Scousers day

Scouser - a person who comes from Liverpool. And today I favour both teams from Liverpool to succeed.

First I'll start with the ''Toffees'' - Everton.

There are several explanations for how this name came to be adopted, the most well known being that there was a business in Everton village, between Everton Brow and Brow Side, named Mother Noblett's, a toffee shop, which advertised and sold sweets, including the Everton Mint. It was also located opposite the lock up which Everton's club crest is based on.
The Toffee Lady tradition in which a girl walks around the perimeter of the pitch before the start of a game tossing free Everton Mints into the crowd symbolises the connection. Another possible reason is that there was a house named Ye Anciente Everton Toffee House in nearby Village Street, Everton, run by Ma Bushell. The toffee house was located near the Queen's Head hotel in which early club meetings took place.
But let's get back from history to reality. The game kicks off in one hour.

27/08/2011 Blackburn - Everton
Home team had not the best start in the league and I can't see much more positive things today. Asian owner just talks about european spot they should fight for, but in reality they probably will fight for survival in the league. They haven't attracted any new players (except midfielder Simon Vukcevic).
Blackburn lost at home against Wolves 1-2 (who are not the best travellers) and away against Villa 1-3. And are bottom of the league.
Blackburn captain Chris Samba should make his first appearance of the season after overcoming a groin injury. Central defender Ryan Nelsen may miss out with a persistent knee injury.
Looking at the history between those two -  Blackburn beat Everton at Ewood Park for the first time in seven attempts last season when a mistake by goalkeeper Tim Howard allowed Nikola Kalinic to score the only goal.

Everton is one of my favorite teams of the league - hard working, strong physically, no nonsense team. Maybe they are not spectacular to watch, but they play for result and usually get what they want. Year in, year out David Moyes manages to keep good squad on very tight budget - they are not signing any new players, but are not selling their best ones either. And some young players are coming from youth team, the one to watch is Ross Barkley, who made his first appearances against QPR and Sheffield United in league cup on Wednesday (Everton won 3-1) and was every inch of a Premierleague player.
First game of the season was a loss against QPR. Everton was better team, but just couldn't score, QPR used their chance and won 1-0.
Fit-again pair Mikel Arteta and Marouane Fellaini are poised for their first league starts of the season.
I expect tough game between two physically teams, but Everton should snatch three points.

Good luck!

Now quick look at the match in Anfield...

27/08/2011 Liverpool - Bolton
Liverpool was dissapointing in first game against Sunderland (1-1 draw), but later beat Arsenal away 2-0 and Exeter 3-1 in cup game.
Looks like the new players are starting to settle in and I believe first win in Anfield today is on the cards.
Liverpool have won their last nine Premier League matches against Bolton.

Liverpool will assess Glen Johnson's hamstring injury, while the in-form Luis Suarez is likely to start after beginning on the bench at Arsenal.
Midfielder Raul Meireles suffered a collarbone injury in midweek and will be unavailable for several weeks.

Bolton started championship very well, beating QPR away 4-0. Second match wasn't so easy and they lost at home against Man City 2-3.
Bolton have lost their main strikers Johan Elmander and Daniel Sturridge from last season, but still scoring goals. I think their open play will be handy for Liverpool.

Bolton left-back Marcos Alonso is out for at least eight weeks after breaking a bone in his foot in the League Cup win against Macclesfield.
Gretar Steinsson, Sam Ricketts and Tyrone Mears are also sidelined.
Bolton's last league win at Liverpool was 2-1 on 2 January 1954, in a top-flight match. I think today is not the day they will break this tradition.
