Took couple days off and hope to be back with wining picks.
Again football week starts with European cups in midweek and I will have one pick from Champions League on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Let's start from return leg match in Nicosia.
23/08/2011 APOEL - Wisla
In first qualifying round Cyprus champions hadn't any problems against Albanian side Skenderbeu, wining on aggregate 6-0. Second round was tougher with Slovan Bratislava - first match at home finished 0-0 and only in second game away they broke down slovaks wining 2-0.
Today's opponents are polish champions Wisla Krakow.
First mach in Poland finished 1-0 to hosts and it was first goal conceided by Cypriots in Eurocups this season in 5 games.
Today APOEL have to eliminate one goal deficit and I think they can do it. Especially by reports from first match polish were not that much superior.
Cypriots team is full of brasilians, portuguese and greek players. Fourth season in a row they play from 6 to 12 games in European cup in a season and I would say they have experience in important matches.
Home stadium will be packed and atmosphere in the stadium will be 12th man for home side.
Argentinian striker Solari and paraguayan midfielder Adorno will miss the game, but APOEL coach Ivan Jovanovič welcomes back defender Savvas Poursaitides from suspension and also has another Cypriot international, winger Athos Solomou, back for the decider.
In each of their six previous campaigns in Europe's premier club competition, Wisla have fallen at the final hurdle before the group stage.
This time they are going undefeated so far, 5 wins from 5 matches. On the way to third qualifying round they beat Skonto from Latvia 3-0 and Litex Lovech 5-2 on aggregate.
Wisla drew 0-0 at Korona Kielce on Saturday in local league, with coach resting some of his biggest stars. There are some doubt about Maor Melikson (who scored 3 goals in 5 games) because of an injury. Dutch right-back Michael Lamey may be fit to return after missing the first leg.
Still I rate cypriots better than polish champions and I think home team should win and go to the group stages.
